Piazza della Repubblica

Piazza della Repubblica

Formerly called Piazza Esedra, it takes its name from the big exedra of the Roman Baths of Diocletian, whose perimeter traces the semi-circular colonnade of the square. Today, in the centre of Piazza della Repubblica, the beautiful Fountain of the Naiads stands, which constitutes the exhibit of the Aqua Marcia.

Roman Forum

In the quiet of night, the Roman Forum shows itself in all its beauty and suggestion. For centuries it was the centre of day-to-day life in Rome, in fact the citizens of the ancient city used this space as a marketplace, since it was the nucleus of commercial affairs, and referred to it as the Forum Magnum, or simply the Forum.

Colosseum and Arch of Constantine

Colosseum and Arch of Constantine

Situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill, the Arch of Constantine is a triumphal arch in Rome dedicated to the emperor Constantine the Great. Built on the route followed by the triumphal processions, it is the largest honorary arch that has come down to us.

Navona Square

Navona Square

The greatest baroque Square in Rome, built above the remains of the Stadium of Domitian. It is famous for the nightlife, for the portrait street artists and for the monumental Fountain of the Four Rivers, an authentic masterpiece of Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

Spanish Steps

Spanish Steps

Built in 1725 to connect Piazza di Spagna with the French monastery church Trinità dei Monti. There are 135 steps and three different terraces overlooking the amazing Fontana della Barcaccia, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Placed at the bottom of the Spanish Steps there is one of the most famous squares in Rome. It owes its name to the Palazzo di Spagna, the seat of the Embassy of Spain to the Holy See.

Trevi Fountain

Trevi Fountain

Considered the most popular fountain in the world, it is 30 meters wide and was built against the ancient Palazzo Poli. Fontana di Trevi stands at the junction of three roads, which come together just in front of the fountain. Don't forget to toss a coin into the Fountain if you wish to return to Rome!
